Chief Financial Officer | Reputable Law FirmDetroit, MI Our QSPTG legal recruiting department is engaged in a search for a Chief Financial Officer on behalf of a highly reputable law firm. This opportunity is driven by a planned retirement, as the current CFO will step down at the end of the year. The firm is open to onboarding the right candidate in advance to ensure a seamless transition. Position Overview The CFO will serve as a key member of the leadership team, overseeing all financial operations of the firm and providing strategic guidance to support continued growth and profitability. This role requires a balance of strategic insight and hands on execution within a professional services environment. Key Responsibilities
Lead all financial functions including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
Provide strategic financial guidance to firm leadership and partners
Oversee financial planning and analysis to support business decisions
Ensure compliance with regulatory, tax, and reporting requirements
Manage cash flow, partner distributions, and financial risk
Develop and mentor the finance team
Partner with firm leadership to drive operational efficiency and long term growth
Qualifications
Proven experience as a CFO or senior financial leader, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment
Strong background in financial management, reporting, and strategic planning
Experience working with partner compensation models is highly valued
Demonstrated leadership and team development experience
Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or MBA strongly preferred
Experience within a law firm or similar professional services organization
Track record of advising executive leadership and driving business performance
Compensation
Base salary in the range of $175-200K, with flexibility for the right candidate
