CNC Programmer

1st Shift 6a-4p

Summary: As a CNC Programmer/Operator you are responsible for the programming of, set up, operation and adjustment of CNC Swiss lathes, and mill. Position requires the ability to produce parts to meet high quality standards.

Essential Duties:
  •  Setup, adjust and check out programming and operate numerically controlled machine tools to perform a series of progressive machining operations on repetitive work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications requiring considerable skill.
  • Responsible for machine maintenance and upkeep.
  • Responsible for 5S and setup of your machining area.
  • Review production orders or schedules to meet scheduled delivery dates and communicates issues immediately to your supervisor / scheduling.
  •  Ensure production of high-quality parts (no or very few escapes). Reduce scrap and identify all potential issues early in the process. Notify quality control if there are potential quality issues.
  •  Control costs. Review tooling, maintenance, and other key operating schedules. Proactively identify savings where possible.
  •  Lead by example. Show up on time per the schedule. Conduct yourself in a fair and respectful manner; and communicate consistently and truthfully to all teammates.

Candidate Requirements:
  •  2 years of precision machining experience
  •  Experience operating CNC swiss lathes(Tsugami, Citizen, SwisTek, Ganesh, etc.) and mills
  •  Ability to use measuring instruments.
  •  Ability to make minor tool adjustments, and/or replacements.
  •  Ability to understand programming codes and make minor programing adjustments to operational code lines.
  •  Ability to understand Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances.
  •  Excellent communication skills
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills with customers and team members
  •  Basic computer skills are required.
  •  Supports all company goals and demonstrates initiative.

Job Demands: Strength – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or

greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Environment:

Due to the environment – the following are required: hearing protection; steel toe, slip resistant shoes and eye

protection. Work area is an oily environment.
