CNC MILL MACHINIST - TECHNICAL LEAD (2nd shift 4pm – 2:30pm, M-Th)
  • Pay offered:$30-$35
  • DIRECT HIRE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Gives technical assistance on machining operations, requiring specialized training and experience in CNC mills. Carries out CNC Mill technical responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, improving, and assisting with technical issues at work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Examine and inspect machined components produced to determine if items meet specifications.
  • Give input on production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to ensure proper mill setups and efficiency.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet standard rates.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Set up CNC mill machines and other equipment as required.
  • Ensure CNC programs are available and ready for use.
  • Assist in continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure technical issues are resolved in the mill department.
  • Assist in adjusting CNC programs.
  • Assist with planning and scheduling of proper machines for production.
  • Perform activities of workers supervised.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 
  • five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Willingness and cooperativeness with co-workers and supervisors; ability to accept constructive criticism.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and pide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
