Job Description

Our customer, a Dryden based CNC machining facility, is looking for a CNC Lathe Setup Operator. 1st Shift, $20/hr. + based on experience.  Apply Now or Call Qualified Staffing Lapeer at (810) 664-0573 Responsibilities
  1. Performing set-up of CNC lathes including editing programs, calibration of cutting tools and location of work offsets for part production
  2. Preparing and pre-setting all tools needed for machining operation
  3. Mounting, aligning, and securing tooling, attachments and work-piece on machine
  4. Selecting and aligning holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines
  5. Conducting quality assurance checks
  6. Making machine adjustments
  7. Modifying program speeds
  8. Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications. 
  9. Processes the required parts per established specifications and tolerances per customer work order
  10. Measures & visually inspects finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications
  11. Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces
  12. Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance
  13. Monitors & reacts to safety alarms
  14. Prolonged periods working on feet, using numeric and hand tools
  15. Performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending, stooping, and twisting
  16. Must have finger dexterity to use calibers
  17. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
  18. Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced
 Requirements
  1. At least 5 years of CNC Lathe Setup experience
  2. Ability to follow written directions.
  3. Work well in a team. 
  4. Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
  8. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education
  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.  
  2. Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
