Job Description
Our customer, a Dryden based CNC machining facility, is looking for a CNC Lathe Setup Operator. 1st Shift, $20/hr. + based on experience. Apply Now or Call Qualified Staffing Lapeer at (810) 664-0573 Responsibilities
- Performing set-up of CNC lathes including editing programs, calibration of cutting tools and location of work offsets for part production
- Preparing and pre-setting all tools needed for machining operation
- Mounting, aligning, and securing tooling, attachments and work-piece on machine
- Selecting and aligning holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines
- Conducting quality assurance checks
- Making machine adjustments
- Modifying program speeds
- Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications.
- Processes the required parts per established specifications and tolerances per customer work order
- Measures & visually inspects finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications
- Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces
- Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance
- Monitors & reacts to safety alarms
- Prolonged periods working on feet, using numeric and hand tools
- Performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending, stooping, and twisting
- Must have finger dexterity to use calibers
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced
- At least 5 years of CNC Lathe Setup experience
- Ability to follow written directions.
- Work well in a team.
- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
