Job Description

Business Administrator  
Our client has several large distribution centers throughout the upper Midwest and Southeast that sell lumber and building materials to independent retail dealers, national pro-dealer chains, mass merchants and one-step-distributors. In terms of product mix, they specialize on just about any building material that makes up the structural frame and/or exterior envelope of a residential or commercial building. They provide many advancement opportunities to become a part of a family like team. 
Location: Comstock Park
Wage: $16 to $18.50/hr Depending on experience
Shift: First shift 8am - 5pm 
Position Status: Part Time 
POSITION SUMMARY: Support the administrative responsibilities of a building materials distribution center. Patience, accountability, and a detailed work-ethic are key. This position is designed to develop a valued technical expert, who is recognized and supported by management in a stable work environment and can deliver quality work by consistently using established guidelines & procedures. 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Complete one task at a time to produce consistent, error free work based on defined standards
  • Assist with customer service activity: greeting customers, answering phones, assist with will call customers.
  • Manage & organize the flow of business documentation such as customer invoicing, daily mail, sales reports and the scanning bills in preparation for payment.
  • Assist with accounts payable activities.
  • Build job knowledge through on-the-job training as well as positive, supportive coaching from management & peers
  • Ordering of general office supplies.
  • Assisting with organizing meetings and branch events.
  • Communicate with others based on knowledge of job routines and procedures gained from sufficient on-the-job experience.
  • Follow established guidelines, structure, and policies, while working with and for others.
  • Work in a steady way to methodically produce accurate work on time and error-free.
  • Decision-making within clearly defined job scope based on defined procedures supported by management
Requirements and Experience:
  • Willing to jump in and roll up your sleeves to help out when necessary
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment with a large number of daily transactions
  • Experience working in a distribution company is a plus
  • Lead by example, with first-hand knowledge of area of expertise
  • Open, flowing communication is important
  •  Interested in a systematic approach, and patient pace, to get the job done right
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Flexibility to support other projects as needed
