Job Description

Our customer, a Lapeer based manufacturer high-visibility automotive components, is looking for an experienced 2nd shift Automotive Painter for their paint department. $16 to $18/hr. depending upon experience. Apply Now or Call Qualified Staffing Lapeer at (810) 664-0573 JOB OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES                                                                                                                                                                                
  1. Proven ability to spray paint 100% of all jobs.
  2. Must be able to recognize and maintain good color.
  3. Capable of meeting production rates with little or no scrap.
  4. Able to work with minimal supervision and minimal downtime.
  5. Ability to work with and train lower-level painters on paint application and mask washing.
  6. Accurate record keeping of process books and production sheets as well as vision boards.
  7. Ability to notice quality concerns and take corrective actions and participate in quality and productivity improvements.
  8. Ability to run and maintain solvent and solvent less mask washes.
  9. Must be able to clean and flush equipment.
  10. Recognize equipment that is not grounded.
  11. Keep within the limits of the attendance guidelines.
  12. Loads and moves materials to work area.
  13. Fills containers with prescribed quantities of paint and solvents.
  14. Installs/uses specified nozzles/guns.
  15. Replace screens and filters.
  16. Clean spray and drying chamber, conveyor, tanks, hoses and nozzles.
  17. Racks work pieces on conveyor, inspects, marks and transfer finished pieces to stockroom or shipping area.
  18. Enforce safety and housekeeping rules at all times.
  19. Relieve painters for breaks, as required.
  20. Keep neat, clean organized work area.
  21. Monitors all work processes.
  22. Monitor and document SPC and production charts as required.
  23. Notify Supervisor of discrepancies in safety, quality, production and all associated processes.
  24. Promote team activity and atmosphere.
 REQUIREMENTS 
  1. Must have at least 2 to 3 years of continuous experience in automotive painting using a spray gun and solvent based paint
  2. Ability to communicate to teams and management
  3. Equipment and process knowledge 
  4. Math and reading skills
  5. Qualified to wear a respirator
