Job Title: Assembly Team Leader – Production (Automotive Manufacturing) Location: Rochester Hills About the RoleWe’re looking for a hands-on Assembly Team Leader to join our fast-paced automotive production team. In this role, you'll be at the heart of our connector assembly operations, ensuring quality standards are met and team performance is optimized. Coordinate, assign, and oversee operators during your shift.
Ensure shift targets are met and hold team members accountable for performance.
Ensure machines are staffed and all necessary resources are available.
Perform machine set-ups and process start-ups.
Operate and monitor fully automated assembly machines.
Conduct regular in-process quality checks and ensure compliance with release procedures.
Quality & Technical
Inspect parts using SPC (Statistical Process Control) and ensure proper documentation.
Support product release and machine jig maintenance as per scheduled plans.
Understand and implement processes for managing suspect/blocked materials.
Apply measuring equipment and techniques to uphold quality standards.
Team Training & Development
Train new and existing operators on machines and processes.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and team engagement.
Communicate results and updates clearly with the Production Supervisor.
What You Bring
High School Diploma or GED required
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment (automotive industry preferred)
Experience managing or leading teams in a shift-based setting
Strong understanding of automated machinery and quality inspection processes
Familiarity with SPC, process release, and material handling protocols
