Job Description
This company has a long history of aluminum manufacturing in North America and along the Wisconsin lake shore. This history extends back to the 1900’s, beginning with the formation of the Aluminum Goods Manufacturing Company. In 1983 the company was sold to Newell/Rubbermaid and subsequently shuttered in 2000. In 2009, with the rolling mill assets suddenly available, Thomas Testwuide, Sr. and four friends came to Manitowoc to see and hear his dream to “purchase, revitalize and operate the shuttered rolling mill”, bringing it back to life. This company now employs over 200 people, supports many industries with eight common aluminum alloys including 1050, 1060, 1070, 1100, 1350, 3003, 3004, and 5052, and is investing in its future to build a long-term, sustainable operation.
They are looking to add on to their team.
Job Duties
Responsible for changing heads, trim and slit wide coils (to 54” wide) to narrower widths, inspect metal while being slit
Remove wire or strapping from coil
Load spool on rewind mandrel when necessary
Thread coil through slitter to rewind mandrel, start slitter, keep machine in proper adjustment, and inspect metal as it is being slit
Observe metal for correct size split and trim
Unload finished coils with automatic ram.

Positions overhead crane and hooks up cables to slitter head
Complete all paperwork/reporting
Responsible for transporting (pickup, tag, and move) scrap from the slitter
Mop and clean oil from area as directed/needed.
Pack approved orders of metal per pack instructions
Load and unload annealing skids with metals
Requirements
Eye for detail
Motivated
Machine operation experience
1 year job longevity at previous employer
Packaging experience
Ok working in heat
Shift/Schedule/Wage
1st Shift 5am-1pm Monday -Friday $17.00
2nd Shift 2pm-12am Monday-Friday $20.00
