Do you have a passion for teaching? Do you work well with elementary aged students? A local educational non-profit is seeking part-time teachers to provide supplemental learning opportunities to students. The facility is in Stokesdale and the position is on-site. This position is part-time, generally 1pm-6pm, Monday through Friday. The pay is $18 hourly and the position is active from September through May.
Necessary Qualifications:
-Demonstrated experience with teaching; teaching certifications a plus!
-Ability to lesson plan and facilitate learning programs, focusing on math and reading development
-Warm, empathetic, and able to foster caring relationships between students, parents, and community members
-Ability to work alongside a tutor (like a teaching assistant) to garner a positive learning environment for up to 50 children at one time
-Appreciation for teaching STEM and helping students develop specialized skills
-Ability to reliable commute to Stokesdale Monday through Friday
We are looking for someone who can be creative and effective in teaching and be able to apply STEM concepts and a focus on math and reading into the curriculum. Our ideal teacher will have the patience and wherewithal to understand each student’s needs and leave an impact on their educational journey.
