Job Description
We have a client in St. Clair Shores who is looking for a Production Operator. It is a 1st shift position starting at $18/hr. The Production Operator, under the supervision of the Production Manager, is responsible for producing quality parts that meet or exceed customer requirements. The operator must align with the Magna Employee's Charter and adhere to MEVS's policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
-Safety and Communication: The operator must follow all plant safety policies and procedures and effectively communicate with team members and other departments.
-Standard Operating Procedures:
The operator is required to adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures for each workstation.
- Quality Assurance: Maintaining the integrity of the quality to ensure that the final product meets or exceeds MEVS standards is essential. Proper documentation of production and inventory must be maintained using the computer system.
Essential Functions:
- Independence: The operator must be able to work unsupervised.
- Continuous Improvement: Supporting continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes is expected.
- Housekeeping: The operator should monitor and maintain good housekeeping, especially during downtime.
- Quality Checks: Performing quality checks using the specified processes (QID, QIF, FO/LO) and alerts is crucial.
- Flexibility: The operator must be willing to work in any job or area in which they are trained or being trained.
- Production: The operator should perform tasks at the current cycle time to meet customer demands and conduct necessary tip changes and TPM activities.
Position Requirements:
- Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Communication: Good communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with team members across all shifts.
- Skills: The operator should possess good mathematical and organizational skills and be able to read and follow work instructions and safety requirements.
Physical Demands:
- The role involves standing or walking for prolonged periods, walking up and down staircases, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs, stooping, bending, and performing repetitive actions.
Equipment/Tools Used:
- The operator may use various equipment and tools, including a computer, telephone, copier/printer, HMI, personal protective equipment, and departmental hand tools.
