Job Description

DATA ENGINEER SUMMARY: The Data Engineer will be responsible for supporting strategic initiatives by building and maintaining a data warehouse and creating pipelines for programs, reports, visualizations, and managing data through knowledge of and use of the core system, MCIF and enterprise-wide data platform.
 RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for recurring reports and dashboards to provide real-time data to business lines across the company.
  • Serve as the engineering expert providing engineering solutions for the business
     intelligence team.
  • Map logic between source systems and Data Warehouses, Data Lake or Data Hub.
  • Have strong knowledge of all products and services, as well as an understanding of the overall operation. 
  • Help manage databases, including the MCIF and organization-wide software platform.  Have a strong understanding of the core processing system.
  • Actively seek opportunities to innovate using engineering processes.
  • Build and optimize data pipeline, pipeline architectures and integrated datasets using data integration technologies including ETL/ELT, data replication/CDC, API design and access and upcoming data integration and data virtualization.
  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain data workflows and pipelines as necessary.
  • Manage day-to-day data-dependent systems.
  • Ensure data is processed and transferred on time.
     Provide support for BI applications, MLOps, and client facing solutions.
  • Identify root causes for internal processes and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Manage data quality by identifying errors in data records and manage processes to
     improve the data.
  • Extract business value using popular data preparation tools to reduce or automate parts of the tedious data preparation tasks.
  • Ability to automate pipeline development.
  • Document all processes used for regular maintenance and operation of databases and data warehouses.
  • Actively participate as a part of the Marketing team.
  • Be a brand steward, upholding brand standards and consistency in all projects.
  • Occasional travel to other locations, functions, and training facilities will be required.
  • Promotes, cross-sells, and markets all products and services at every opportunity
  • Always present a professional positive image to members and potential members. 
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by management.
  • Will comply with all Bank Secrecy, OFAC, and other federal requirements as outlined in policies and procedures.

     Support the initiatives by demonstrating teamwork and professionalism.
 REQUIREMENTS:
  • Three years of hands-on data management experience including data warehousing, data integration, modeling, optimization, and data quality, and/or other areas directly relevant to data engineering responsibilities and tasks.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or an equivalent field required. Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or an
     equivalent field preferred.
  • Programming Skills - Proficiency in SQL, Python, Pandas, Docker/Kubernetes,
     Kafka, Terraform, SQL Server, DB2, and CI/CD tools
  • Experience required specifically focusing on data warehouse engineering and data processes. 
  • Engineering and data management experience in a financial institution preferred.
  • Requires proficient, frequent, and ongoing use of database software platforms.
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of financial institution operation and marketing
     is required.
  • Position requires bondability.
