Job Description


Our customer, a Lapeer based manufacturer of high-visibility automotive components, is looking for a 1st shift Supervisor for their Molding Department. $18 to $22/hr. based on experience.

JOB OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Determine employee assignments.
  2. Production reporting.
  3. Enforce safety and housekeeping “6S” rules at all times.
  4. Fill in for Molding Manager in his/her absence.
  5. Monitor and document SPC and production charts, as required.
  6. Monitor all processes and troubleshooting, as required.
  7. Maintain and ensure company policies and procedures.
  8. Recommend and participate in quality and productivity improvements.
  9. Maintain part quality to customer standards.
  10. Training employees in the department and updating the training matrix as required.
  11. Back up as process technician, as needed.
  12. Assist with scheduling of product to machine, mix and fit.
  13. Ensures that all applicable Qs9000 and ISO 14001 procedures and work instructions are followed.
  14. Any other assignments as directed by management.
  15. Act as a backup Quality Auditor 
  16. Accident reporting- Must complete the Accident Investigation by end of that shift with pictures if possible and have the employee complete an accident report as soon as possible.
  17. Adjust and process associated equipment.
  18. Direct employees in production process.
  19. Initiate discipline and document, as required.
  20. Accountable for implementation of the Environmental Management System as it pertains to this position.

REQUIREMENTS
  1. Machine and process knowledge.
  2. Basic SPC.
  3. Math and reading skills, as applies.
  4. Effectively communicate to teams and management.
  5. Knowledge of good health and safety practices.
  6. Trained in Lockout/Tagout, DOT 126/RCRA, HAZWOPER, Emergency Action Plan (or Incident Command System).
