Job Description
Mechanic positions at a Tier #1 Automotive Supplier located in Troy. These are full-time, permanent positions with room for advancement.
Duties Responsible for repairing and maintaining equipment and machines to keep the plant running smoothly. Responsibilities
Qualifications
EducationFormal training leading to journeyman status in Machine Repair, or equivalent
ExperienceFive to seven years of experience
SkillsAdvanced equipment troubleshooting skillsKnowledge of ISO/IATF16949, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electrical, Stamping, Cutting, Forming, Grinding, Tool Sharpening, Milling, Machine Setup, Blueprint Reading, Electrical Schematic Reading, Spark Testing, Basic Carpentry and HVAC, Electrical Repairs, Time Studies, Machine Repair, and Tooling Selection Must be able to operate basic metrology equipment, grease guns, cranes, grinders, stamping presses, drill presses, punch presses, hand tools, and equipment related to the maintenance and repair of equipment and machines Knowledge of Mig and Resistance Welding CellsCommunication skills to communicate and interact with all levels of employeesComputer skills and math skills sufficient to perform department-related tasks are required
LicensureValid driver’s license, hi-lo license, and journeyman status or accredited certificate required. SafetySafety glasses and hearing protection are required. Other safety equipment is required on an as-needed basis

- Read, diagnose and repair machinery and equipment using hand tools and other equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance on machinery
- Read electrical schematics and other documents to assist in diagnosing and repairing machinery and equipment
- Communicate with co-workers and others to carry out job duties
