The Lead Manufacturing Engineer be in a critical role launching a new production cell for the manufacture of precision formed and machined components. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creating detailed manufacturing process plans
Defining capital requirements, buyoff criteria, and evaluating vendor proposals
Defining a safe, lean, and efficient plant layout
Validating capital purchases through execution of Acceptance Test Plans at both vendor and on-site locations
Overseeing the installation and commissioning of capital equipment
Performing hands-on process development, NC programming, tool design, and inspection
Establishing preventative maintenance plans
Establishing procedures to assure the proper set-up and usage of tools, machines, and equipment
Seeing the project through the PPAP process and into serial production
Assuring cell compliance with the various computerized systems on the factory floor, such as, On-line Quality Reporting (OQR), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Factory Data Collection (FDC) and other similar programs.
Working closely with project and plant leadership to maintain schedule and budget
Other technical, physical, and administrative duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or related field
The qualified candidate must have an interest in working in a hands-on manufacturing environment
The position requires five years of relevant experience. Process planning, process development, CNC programming, or tool design experience is a plus
Must be able to read and interpret part drawings. Strong CAD skills are desired (UG NX is a plus)
Comprehension of mechanical components and engineering principles
Highly motivated and organized individual who is able to function independently
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Strong experience in both analytical thinking and problem-solving
Project management experience is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint)
