Technical Illustrators are responsible for preparation of all types of illustration for USMC Technical Manuals (TMs). Technical Illustrators must be able to interpret Level III engineering drawings for conversion into TO compatible line drawings, convert halftones (photo's) into line drawings and prepare exploded views of equipment to use in the parts breakdown for dis-assembly/assembly instructions. Technical Illustrators must be able to interpret sketches from engineers, technical writers, and covert TO illustrations and perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate Degree in Illustration preferred. Technical Order experience in TMCR, Mil Specs, illustration and editing and be capable of preparing drawings of electrical circuits, machine parts, wiring diagrams and schematics from interpreting draft layouts, sketches or other sources for military systems.
Must possess an excellent command of the English language. This position requires the ability to review and write routine reports and correspondence. Must be able to communicate and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Successfully perform advanced mathematical functions as required.
Demonstrate and apply common sense understanding to carry out technical instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Possess problem solving skills and the capability to prioritize daily work schedule in keeping with productivity standards.
To perform this job successfully, the individual should have advanced working knowledge of computers, software and general office equipment to include but not limited to MS Windows and Office Pro.

Candidate must possess a current driver’s license, proof of U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain and retain a security clearance enabling access to various government facilities.
