Machine Builder-Assembly Levels I, II, & III
Responsible for maintaining compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and Company safety standards.
Build or manufacture to drawing, bill of material, all items to established production quality and quantity as scheduled. Proficient use of precision measuring equipment.
Assist with training of employees when necessary.
Assist customers/vendors with phone or site consultation when necessary.
Responsible for maintenance/repair of building/installed equipment or new equipment as assigned.
Responsible for preventative maintenance and good housekeeping to insure good quality and continuation of safe operation.
Assist in other departments as temporary assignment.
Confer with supervisors, engineering, production personnel or others to resolve manufacturing problems. Report shortages of parts, tools, and materials in a timely manner.
Operate power equipment and material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, etc.).
Ability to use mainframe computer when needed.
Develop specifications from general description and draw sketch of part or product to be manufactured.
Ability to work with metric and inch system.
Responsible for submitting daily time accounting and payroll information or other paperwork requested.
Build sub assemblies and/or final machine assemblies with the use of routers drawings, and bills of materials with supervision or assistance from others as needed.
Capable of understanding basic drawings, routings, and B.O.M.’s.
Documents changes as needed on drawings, routings, and B.O.M.’s.
Does basic layouts, drilling, tapping, pinning, etc.
Proficient knowledge and use of all types of pneumatic, hydraulic, and water fittings, fasteners, hoses, etc.
Basic working knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, as well as ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
Assists in machine documentation for machine files. Assists in building prototype equipment.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write blueprints, schematics, and simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the Company.
Ability to interact with fellow employees, supervisors, middle management and customers.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to read and understand precision instruments, angles, weights, etc.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Forklift license and crane safety certificate.
Must have personal hand tools to perform tasks effectively.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to one hundred (100) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to bend, crouch, kneel, crawl and perform fine motor tasks
The employee must be able to listen for abnormal sounds or noises in an effort to identify faulty pumps, air leaks, etc.
