  • Leads APQP and PPAP processes to ensure effective and efficient process and procedure development; successful new product launches
  • Preparing advanced quality planning documents and facilitating the creation of FMEA’s. process flow diagrams, control plans, gage R&R and capability studies.
  • Leads the project development and production team in the PFMEA assessments and RPN analysis for family part launches or new design launches.
  • Leads the tasks assigned in the project development cycle that are part of the pre-production phase as well as raising awareness when tasks are not going to be completed on time.
  • Leads the pre-production quality planning activities as a “voice of the customer” to ensure proper escalation takes place when other stakeholders (internal or external) will impact and influence the launch integrity.
  • Works with customers, program managers, serial production quality engineers as part of the feasibility reviews that need to take place prior to acceptance of the final purchase order.
  • Participates in regular APQP meetings as well as product kick-off meetings with internal development team and the customer.
  • Analyze and coordinate all data related to the PPAP of new and revised products. Responsible for putting together the PPAP packages of all levels.
  • Support and initiate the creation and maintenance of APQP documentation.
  • Analyze and verify dimensional capability of products and processes.
  • Work with customers to help solve and react to the customer feedback pertaining to PPAP and changes.
  • Lead the corrective and preventative action improvement activities for the development process and any development issues that arise during the pre-production phase.
  • Lead the pre-production part audits that prepare the part for launch into serial production.
  • Transition to the serial production quality engineer the findings and risks identified as part of safe launch activities.
  • Lead the creation of the safe launch plan, review the data that falls into the safe launch period and prepare overviews pertaining to the metrics and results during the “no rework” period of launch.
  • 3+ years quality experience
  • ASQ certification a plus
  • Secondary education degree a plus
  • Computer skills critical
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Ability to self-direct and manage time effectively
  • Able to gather and organize data/presentation skills
  • Solid GD&T skills necessary, blueprint reading necessary
  • CMM experience a plus
